We made our way to the great hall and met the first people Agent Ford spotted, Elena Divine and Jimmy Sherman, the Whistle Kid.
“I’ve never seen so many of us in one place,” Jimmy said. He looked about thirteen, his whistle on a chain around his neck.
“Let me know if I may be of aid,” Elena added, flashing dark eyes as she searched our faces.
Elena’s cape covered a skimpy costume. Her outfit did not at all seem optimal for crime fighting.
“I’ve cast a Spell of a Thousand Eyes on all of the newcomers,” she told the Whistle Kid. “But remain vigilant. Never depend – ”
“Never depend solely on magic,” Jimmy said with polite annoyance. “I know, Elena, I know.”
Lincoln came over and said, “Del, I don’t see any choice. We must rouse our friend from slumber.”
“I’ve already warned Margo.” Agent Ford turned to us and said, “You three care to come along?”
“Where are we going?”
“To wake up the Radiatron.”

We boarded an underground shuttle and were taken to the nearby Federal Sciences Building.
A woman greeted us; her brown hair held a hint of curl and her brown eyes a hint of sadness.
“Margo, meet Rick, Josie and Dale. This is Dr. Margo Kincade.”
She led us to a giant loft divided into two sections.
One side resembled an apartment, with a kitchen and living room.
The other half was a high-tech laboratory.
At the heart of the lab sat a raised platform and a tube flowing with wires.
A picture on a wall showed showed a handsome man with cocoa brown skin.
"That's Roger," said Dr. Kincade.
“Can he hear us?” Dale asked.
“Not now. But an audio system lets me speak to him sub-consciously.”
“How long has he … been there?”
“One year, four months, nine days.”
“The time has come, Margo.” Del’s voice was soft. “We’re going to need him.”
“I started preliminary thawing when you called. I can have him ready in six hours.”
“I know this is rough. Sorry it has to be this way.”
“Thanks for coming in person, you didn’t have to do that.”
“Yes, I did,” Del said. “I did.”
She reached and held his hand as they shared a fleeting smile.
“Give me any new info and I’ll get Roger briefed ASAP.”
We soon said our goodbyes, leaving Dr. Kincade alone to whisper words to the sleeping hero.
